Ashleigh Donnelly is the Participant Support Coordinator at Centacare, which provides employment, education and social opportunities for adults with an intellectual disability.
Ashleigh has a Social Work background and worked previously as a caseworker at CatholicCare Broken Bay with young people in Out of Home Care. She has experience in rural community mental health and is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
Ashleigh is the Oceania delegate on the Vatican’s newly established International Youth Advisory Body. In October 2019 Ashleigh was one of 20 young people from around the world appointed to this body, which works closely with the Vatican Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life to examine issues related to youth ministry. Prior to this appointment, Ashleigh was the Australian Delegate at two Pre-Synod meetings in Rome in 2017 where she spoke about her experience as a young adult in the Church, and shared her hopes for the Synod of Bishops on Young People, Faith and Vocational Discernment.
Ashleigh is a speaker and writer, and she enjoys activating young people to make a difference in the world.
